Working on Trollbloods

My local store has the Gargantuans book release event coming up soon so I have been rushing to assemble all of my Trollbloods.  I have collected Trollbloods for a long time, because I like a lot of the models.  Last night I finished assembling everything.  Now I am trying to figure out what 35 point two caster list to paint for the tournament.  I always go for the maximum points possible before the event starts.

For the book release event I need to do the following:
  1. Make a:
    1. Linear Obstacle
    2. Forest
    3. Hill
    4. Shallow Water
  2. Paint 35 Points of Army and two warcasters

    Tonight I paint whelps!!!

My photos from Winter Rampage 2012

This game was a lot of fun it was pNeemo's tier 4 theme force (Eye of the Storm)  It made me want to expand, and build a full tier 4 pNeemo list.  I just need a unit of Stormblades (grey ones are borrowed), a Sentinel, three Stormsmiths, and the Thunderhead (also borrowed).  So maybe by June 2013 I'll have that put together.
I was really happy with the way the game went against Menoth.  I played really well and had to claw back a lot after a really lack-luster feat turn.  Siege's first rocket missed the Templar, and the second shot did a whopping eight damage.  The Defender followed form and put ten damage on the Reckoner.  Not the ideal feat turn but I did not let it tilt me, I had to back off a little bit and re-engage.  I used the wall to my advantage to stop the Menoth jacks from charging.  At one point Gorman black oiled the Crusader and the Reckoner with one grenade.  The game ended with two exploding dice rolls from the Reckoner and Redeemer into Siege.

Achievements!  I earned so many!

Winter Rampage 2012

Winter Rampage was one of the most enjoyable events I have ever attended.  The event took place at And Books Too, it was 35 points with the Summer Rampage Rules Set.  I took the casual nature of this event very seriously and played four games over the course of six hours.

(None of these photos were taken by me.)
This Mercenaries army took the Artisan award.

LOOK!  Its my crotch, a tape measurer and three heavy warjacks!

Dream: Deliver two heavy warjacks on a colossal.

Cryx and Mercenaries match up that took FOREVER to finish!
Haley hiding behind a hill still managed to get shot by a non-aiming Behemoth.
I really like the shot of the minuteman jumping over the wall.
Dream: Use pNeemo to supercharge a Stormclad with five focus.  Have said Stormclad standing next to Stormblades for a total of six focus.  Use locomotion to move the Stormclad forward, then have it charge Mulg, and a Mauler, killing Mulg and nearly killing the Mauler.

Despite loosing all but one of my games I managed to win the Rampager Badge.  The badge was awarded to me for completing the most achievements because nobody did all five of the required rampages.  After the event there was an end of year celebration at the local Buffalo Wild Wings, and much Newcastle was consumed.

Overall went to Menoth
Best Hordes was Trolls
Best Warmachine Was Cryx
Best painted was Mercenaries
The Golden Zerkova went to Khador
And the achievements went to Cygnar... ME!!

Cranked out the Boomhowler Squad!

The paint job was very simple.  Two coats of GW Seraphim Sephia wash on all the Armor and cloak bits.  The metal is PP Quick Silver, with GW Nuln Oil wash.  The flesh is PP Trollblood Base followed by PP Trollblood Highlight dry brushed.

Some of the guns have PP Solid Gold applied to the bottom of the Blunderbusses.  I tried to make the blunderbusses look varied because I figured being Mercenaries some would kit out their guns.
I made the lenses on the goggles darker by leaving a pool of ink in the lens recesses.  Greygore's Teeth are just light application of PP Morrow White.  The "hair" on the models is PP Umbral Umberon the bottom half with two coats of PP Skorne Red applied to the top of the "hair" strands.  The red is watered down so it smoothes the transition from brown to red.
The stock of the guns is two layers of watered down PP Bloodtracker Brown.
I will post a final pic after everything has been based and sealed.  Have a great weekend!

New Grim Angus!
I love the Grim Angus: Lawman look that he has going on.  I wonder if those are Iron Kingdom handcuffs.  Everything about this model is spectacular.  I can't wait to field him next year.
